2. Private Seaplane Transfers (Round-trip):

Domestic Flight transfer takes 20 minutes from Male International Airport.

Standard Transfer Times: To reach Royal Island Resort & Spa on the same day, guests must arrive at Male International Airport before 17:00 local Male time.

Please note that the property cannot organize departure domestic flight transfers for international flights which depart prior to 0900 hours local Male time.

Arrival and departure flight details, full names, and date of birth of all guests as stated in the passport should be provided to the resort 96 hours (4 days) before arrival to arrange transfers. In case these details are communicated later than 96 hours (4 days) we may not be able to guarantee same-day connections.

Please note that a Green Tax of USD 6 per child, per night is applicable additionally. This tax is already calculated and included in the booking price for adults.

What was the highlight of Royal Island Resort Maldives

For a budget friendly option in the Maldives, Royal Island ticks all the boxes.

The island is blessed with lush vegetation and a gorgeous beach and is very well maintained. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The food was very good and there was plenty of variety. Delicious curries. The house reef was excellent for snorkelling. The scuba diving was mostly good.

We were very put off by the resorts mosquito 'management' . Although largely effective, having chemicals pumped into the air each morning and afternoon can not be good for the environment or anyones health. Other resorts nearby are managing the same problem, without the use of chemicals / fogging. I'm sure this poses a serious health risk and needs to change. The creaking floors of the cottages made it difficult not to wake my companion when getting up during the night.

Amazing, unforgettable and even better than our first visit to Royal Island in 2012.

This was our second time visiting Royal Island and 5th visiting the Maldives. The food was amazing. The Executive Chef Ishag Solih delivered a phenomenal array of cuisine with different themes each evening. He was so passionate about the food. His heart and soul was in it. I really loved the traditional Maldivian food night. Maha our Personal Assistant was so helpful and sent us daily updates of what activities were going on. A really kind and caring person who ensured our time in Royal Island went smoothly.

Cost of drinks is very high. ️ This is the same across the Maldives due to having to import alcohol and costs associated with that.

Wonderful island life with unlimited meals.

The foods are overflowing. We had buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I went there with a flat abs, and now I gained a fat tummy. All the foods they offer were so delicious. Also, our house attendant, Mark, is very helpful to us and answered all our queries. In fact, all the people working there are very kind and hospitable. They were all showing their beautiful smiles whenever you encounter them. On top of that, our villa is facing the beach showcasing a remarkable sunset view. It gives you an island life ambiance that is both tranquil and serene. And lastly, if you’re not into water sports activities, they also offer volleyball, tennis, table tennis, etc. as part of their activities. They even come up with different activities for all ages daily which I find really thoughtful.

It would have been better if they have the iconic bridges connecting the villas in the ocean.

I had an amazing stay at Royal Island Resort in the Maldives! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. A special thank’s to Noble, Abdullah, Afrah, and Mithila — each one of them went above and beyond to make my experience unforgettable. They were kind, professional, and always made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. The resort itself is stunning, but it’s the staff that truly made the difference. I highly recommend Royal Island Resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and personalized Maldivian getaway. I’ll definitely be coming back!

It was a really great vacation! There are a lot of greens, all the staff are very friendly and helpful, great spa. Very beautiful home reef. Many thanks to the resort!

The route to the resort just a little bit hard with an infant because of the long waiting of the local plane.

A Honeymoon to Remember: Extraordinary Resort Stay

From arrival to departure, staying at this resort was an unforgettable experience. Since we booked it for our honeymoon, we were delighted to receive cake and champagne as a special treat, thanks to Noble. The massages at spa center were exceptional, the food was extraordinary, and the marine life right in front of our villa was mesmerizing. Snorkeling equipment is provided, so there's no need to bring your own. We encountered a variety of fish, turtles, crabs, and more, all swimming around us. There was so much to see and explore that we couldn’t cover it all in our 10-day stay, so we definitely plan to return. In addition to the mentioned amenities, we had specific preferences for bed mattresses and pillow firmness, and everything here exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to Noble, who managed everything seamlessly, sent regular updates, and assisted with whatever we needed. Remon, responsible for cleaning our room, ensured the mini bar and snacks were always stocked and created beautiful leaf drawings on our bed, brightening our day. Nirval at Raabondhi restaurant is a model waiter, friendly, talkative, and attentive, always with a smile. Kishore at the main restaurant is outstanding; we always aimed to sit at his tables. He welcomed us warmly, remembered our previous orders, and ensured everything was timely. Anyone fortunate enough to be served by these wonderful individuals will have a paradise vacation.

Would return for Home reef but wouldn’t for the butlers

The home reef with a lot of fishes, sharks, turtles. Just with mask you can see all of them. The nature unbelievable. Very nice staff at the main restaurant.

Very poor communication. Never received the message from the hotel about our pick up until called to them. In the XXI century why should we use phones when they could message us. Messaging to the property is impossible. The holidays were spoiled by the butler who was completely useless and even harmless for full enjoyment of the holidays. Asking about Hanifaru Bay trip said that there are no trips, instead proposing boat day trips. In the diving center we were told that Hanifaru bay is opened and we enjoyed snorkeling with mantas. The staff in diving center and water activity center is very nice. The departure was also spoiled with this butler lady who every time seeing us approached us, smiling, asking how we are but never was really helping. We asked a late departure but she made 4 am departure explaining that we didn’t give her details in advance. But we did and she was not answering for several days. Another butler who substituted this lady was also of the same helpful level. Talking to us holding one hand in the trousers pocket. I am sorry. But this is disrespect.

It was a pleasure.

We liked almost everything. Our vacation was relaxing and beautiful. The beach was perfect, with soft, almost white sand and warm, clear blue water. The bungalow was very comfortable with a view of the sunset. Snorkeling we saw sharks, turtles, so many amazing small fish. And they were almost close to our place. We had wonderful neighbors and made new friends.

My husband was not satisfied with the food. He wanted more variety in fish and food in general.

The beach is lovely , i can't ask for more The Lunch and Dinner were excellent with lot of choices , only the desert need to be improved as taste wise. All the staff were very nice and helpful

Nice hotel

Food was great especially we've booked the all inclusive package, all the staff were helpful and the spa was very relaxing.

The arrangements for the domestic transfer when we arrive from the airport took so long. It was wasted day just for travelling, as the island/ resort was too far from Male. Rooms also needs some updating.
